Ice Season Kickoff set for Stan’s Bait and Tackle

By Steve Weisman

Stan’s Bait and Tackle is planning its second annual Ice Season Kickoff on Saturday, November 3 starting at 8 a.m. According to owner Travis Harman, “Last year went really well, and we are really excited for this year’s event. It’s designed to be more of a casual atmosphere. We want people to come in and view all of the ice fishing products, and just enjoy talking about the products and ice fishing.”

Factory representatives and pro staffers from such manufacturers as Clam Outdoors, Vexilar, Ice Force, Crystaleyes jigs, Vexan, St. Croix, Hummingbird and Cold Snap will be on hand. “Pretty much everybody in the industry will be represented with many of the pro staffers area anglers and guides.”

Harman notes that there will be an array of specials for the day including every Clam portable shelter sold that day will come with a free runner kit installed free of charge.

Another special will include “buy a minnow bucket” sale. “Buy a minnow bucket and fill it up and get 10 percent off those products (excluding electronics). Last year we had a lot of people stock up on tungsten jigs with that 10 percent discount.”

Harmon adds, “Of course, those who attended last year are already requesting Tammy’s special fish chowder. We’ll start serving between 10:30 and 11.”
